Louise Gaffney

Louise started playing piano at the age of 4. From an early age she was surrounded by a full spectrum of music from trad to jazz but her training was very much classical in nature. This was to prove a help and a hindrance in that it was difficult to break free of such a regimented style into looser genres. She took some brief training in jazz standards and stylings that were to help open some doors. Chance encounters led her to take to the stage with folk/jazz band Ardiff. Through this connection she finally met with Mob Fandango at a time when she had a vested interest in Funk and Soul. Sitting comfortably into the genre, her own, personal style of playing was to develop naturally.
